Nice and clean

Quiet, clean room, EXCELLENT bed, good service from front office especially from Ms. Dee Patel. Much more than we expected.

I have stayed many times. Rooms are always clean, smell good, beds are comfortable. Attendants are very nice and accommodating.

This was our second stay at the lodge. We enjoyed it very much. We will stay there again if we have to return in the furture. Our resent stay was July 25-27. My granddaughter feels like the princess she really is!!!

My family and I booked reservations at Carolina Lodge and we thought it would be unpleasant but it turned out to be the opposite. My children and husband enjoyed themselves. It was quiet, the room was in excellent condition and I got an affordable rate. Even housekeeping made sure that our room was kept tidy for our week stay there. I love the whole new look of the motel and the staff was excellent with their customer service. I would recommend this motel to all family and friends.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Barnwell, SC. When we arrived at the hotel, check in was very quick which is always welcomed. When we went to our room we were totally surprised with the quality of the room and cleanness. It was very nice and comfortable during our stay.

I strongly recommend this hotel for families for a number of different reasons. First of all, the receptionist was very friendly and was very helpful in helping us locate our room. Another thing that was good was we didn’t have to carry our luggage upstairs because all rooms are ground floor rooms. The rooms are beautifully upgraded and very economically rated. Also, they have 42" TVs that we enjoyed because we had an excellent view from our beds and good quality picture.

Also, the quality of sleep which you will experience at this hotel is very excellent. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent with a standard sized bathroom complete with a very clean plastic shower curtain and room service was offered every day. The Carolina Lodge is placed in a very good area in Barnwell, SC: it is extremely close to many fast food restaurants and grocery stores. Overall we had an excellent stay at this hotel and again would recommend anyone to stay here. We will stay at the Carolina Lodge again!

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean the room was for the price we paid. The average low price stereotype does not apply here. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed slept soooo well. I would highly recommend the Carolina Lodge for your next stay over in Barnwell!

I really enjoyed this hotel. The room was clean and spacious. It had Granite topped vanity. It also had a micro-fridge in the room had 2 double beds which fit our needs perfectly. The room also had a 42 inch TV. The hotel also had a continental breakfast which had hot pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, mini muffins, doughnuts, and bagels. Also juice and coffee. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

My husband Rodney and I had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Carolina Lodge during a recent brief trip to Barnwell City. We needed a comfortable but affordable hotel in the Barnwell neighborhood, and we were attracted to the favorable reviews for Carolina Lodge. I have to admit we were a little skeptical of any establishment with such overwhelmingly positive reviews, but I'm here to tell you: it's all true!

First and foremost, the location is excellent, within convenient walking distance to the shopping area and restaurants. We spent our entire time exploring the immediate neighborhood. Next on the list are comfort and cleanliness. The towels and bed linens were of very good quality, and the entire hotel was clean -- breakfast area, lobby, etc. Now, let's hear it for professional, attentive staffing. The front desk staff folks were a joy to deal with — knowledgeable, welcoming, helpful — and all members of the staff were personable and industrious. Clearly, everyone who works here enjoys working here, and that's not so common these days.

Now for the extra special features. We were traveling light (no laptop), so the owner of Carolina Lodge let us use his laptop, where we were able to have FREE access to the Internet and our email accounts - no hassles or hidden charges.

Without a doubt, though, the best "amenity" at Carolina Lodge is the resident cat. Note that if you're accustomed to staying in corporate hotels or franchise establishments, you might find the rooms and bathrooms at Carolina Lodge to be a bit small, but hey, this is Barnwell — you'd pay dearly for those larger spaces. What impressed us was that, although the room and bathroom were small, everything you might need was right there: nicely designed rooms, adequate surfaces for toiletries and accessories, a tiny fridge (just right for beer wine and little food), and a large flat-screen TV.

All in all, we had a great experience staying at Carolina Lodge, and we've already recommended it to several friends who are considering trips to Barnwell. We'll definitely stay there on our next trip to Barnwell - and the next one, and the next one!

Great Quality Stay!!

This budget motel was a good find! The rooms were spacious and clean. They were long stay friendly, with all rooms having a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and plenty of storage. The room had a nice writing desk, side tables, good WiFi and plenty of places to charge up.

Breakfast was included that is what I would describe as continental plus - making this place a very good buy. The pancake machine was a welcome new sight that was as tasty as it was interesting. Everything was clean and efficient. This place takes a lot of pride in its appearance and has done quite a bit of work on fixing things. Good Value!

Could do better

Cleanliness of hotel & breakfast could be a lot better, there was only cereals, pancakes &muffins for breakfast. Coffee out of machine was ok but the de-caff didn’t work. Pancakes was the only hot option. The room was fair but could do with a good clean & redecoration. Some outside seating would also have been good on a hot night.

Nice bed and clean floor. No upkeep on room

Our room 124. We stayed for 5 days. The bed was newer and comfortable. There was no carpeting in the room. It was replaced with a tile floor. this is actually better since it does not pick up smells or midew.

The bad-- The sink stopper was broken and never fixed. The daily maintenance peoplr clean around it and left it as is. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom around the shower head and the toilet seat was broken at the bolt. These may not be show stoppers but I think everything in the rooms should be in good working order and not ignored.

Clean, comfortable budget motel

Evacuated here. Pros:Owner/operators quick to remedy a broken fridge. King bed was very comfy. Room was very clean with no weird odors. Nice big tv and microwave along with fridge. Surprisi gly quiet - could not hear neighboring rooms. Rate was very good. Owner did not price gauge. Cons: room was a bit small. Breakfast not good. Lighting on the dim side.

All in all just fine for what we needed.

This trip was last minute planned and I really needed a place to stay. It's been years since I've stayed and I was very pleased to see that this location was upgrading. The room was extremely nice and comfortable and clean.
